Simple and fast advanced electronic signing
The advanced electronic signature can be applied to most documents to be signed in a low-threshold manner without compromising legal validity.
Here the sender of the document can sign digitally himself, and can also have his customers and other relations sign digitally within the same system in a relatively simple way. The signing process can thus be handled entirely digitally. The advanced electronic signature is ideally suited for signing offers, SLAs and order confirmations. The advanced signature cannot be used for signing employment contracts (regulated by law) and documents with major legal consequences, such as notarial deeds, published annual accounts and insurance policies. For these, the qualified electronic signature must be used. The advanced electronic signature complies with Art 3:15a, paragraphs 2a to d of the Civil Code in the Netherlands.
Advanced or qualified?
Dutch law recognizes 3 types of electronic or digital signatures. The so-called qualified electronic signature is of the highest level of reliability and has the same legal value as the handwritten signature. However, this qualified electronic signature requires a person- or organization-specific PKI certificate. These are issued by bodies accredited for this purpose by the Dutch government. For placing an advanced digital signature, authentication goes through the certificate of the signing service provider.
Watch out! EU PKI certificate mandatory!
According to eIDAS, qualified and advanced electronic signatures must use PKI certificates issued in the European Union. Pay attention to this when choosing your signing service provider.

Qualified and advanced on one document
It is possible that there are qualified and advanced electronic signatures on one document. This has to do with the use of the certificates. When you sign a certain document with your own PKI certificate, you put a qualified electronic signature. Other signers, who do not have their own PKI certificate, then put an advanced electronic signature. They then use the certificate of the signing service provider, which in the case of Zynyo is also a PKI certificate.
